Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2025
1. What we collect
Nothing. ToddlerKeys does not collect any personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, no email addresses, no names stored on our servers, and no analytics. When you use ToddlerKeys, no data about you or your child is transmitted to us or to any third party.
2. localStorage
ToddlerKeys stores a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage to remember preferences between sessions. The only items stored are:
- Selected game mode — so the app opens on the last mode used.
- Child's name — if you enter an optional name for personalisation.
- Sound preference — whether sound is on or off.
- Theme preference — light or dark mode.
This data lives entirely in your browser. It is never transmitted to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser's settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data, or the equivalent in your browser).
3. No third-party scripts
ToddlerKeys loads no third-party tracking or advertising scripts. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no advertising network code, and no social media tracking of any kind. The only external resource loaded is the Nunito font from fonts.bunny.net , a GDPR-compliant font host that does not track users or set cookies.
4. Children's privacy (COPPA)
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to operators of websites directed to children under 13 that collect personal information from those children. ToddlerKeys collects no personal information from anyone — child or adult. Because we collect nothing, COPPA's consent and disclosure requirements do not apply in practice.
We have designed ToddlerKeys this way deliberately. Parents and teachers should be able to hand a keyboard to a young child without worrying about data collection, profiling, or targeted advertising. We have no business model that depends on user data, and we intend to keep it that way.
5. Cookies
ToddlerKeys does not set any cookies. Preferences are stored in localStorage (see section 2), which is different from cookies and is not transmitted with network requests.
6. Hosting
ToddlerKeys is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log anonymised server-side metrics (such as request counts and error rates) for operational purposes. These logs do not contain personally identifiable information and are not accessible to us in a form that identifies individual users. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Because we collect no data, changes are unlikely to affect you. We will never introduce data collection, advertising, or third-party tracking without prominently disclosing it.
